Monika Romaszko is a Polish athlete specializing in track and field events, particularly in short-distance sprints and hurdles. She has earned a silver medal at the European Team Championships and the World University Games, in addition to securing a bronze medal at the European U20 Championships. Monika is recognized as one of the promising talents in Polish athletics and ranks among the top sprinters in the nation.
Born on April 13, 2002, Monika Romaszko began her journey in sports during her childhood, demonstrating exceptional abilities in athletics and sprinting.
Monika Romaszko commenced her competitive journey in 2017, securing a bronze medal in the 200m at the Biala Podlaska Meeting.
In the following season, she made her debut at the junior national championships, clinching the bronze in the 60m at the Torun Polish U18 Indoor Championships. She demonstrated remarkable abilities and also made her 100m debut at the Lublin Polish Championships, although she did not qualify for the finals. Concurrently, she participated in international competitions, competing in the 100m hurdles at the Gyor European U18 Championships and the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, but regrettably did not achieve any podium finishes in either event. At the Gyor European U18 Championships, she also took part in the 1000m sprint medley but was unable to advance past the heats.
In 2019, Monika Romaszko showcased her exceptional talent in sprints, earning silver medals in both the 100m and 100m hurdles at the Poznan Polish U18 Championships. Additionally, she secured the gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the Radom Polish U20 Club Championships, along with a gold in the 100m at the Grand Prix Lublin and the Siedlce LZS Games. At the Radom Polish Championships, she placed 4th in the 4x100m relay but did not qualify for the finals in the individual events of 100m and 100m hurdles.
Monika Romaszko commenced the 2020 season by securing the bronze medal in the 60m hurdles at the Torun Polish U20 Indoor Championships. Throughout the outdoor season, she maintained her impressive performance in junior competitions, clinching the gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the Bialystok Polish Team Championships and the bronze medal in the 100m hurdles at the Lublin Polish Club Championships.
In 2021, Monika Romaszko was a member of Poland’s 4x100m relay team at the Tallinn European Athletics U20 Championships, where they achieved a bronze medal, and at the Nairobi World Athletics U20 Championships, where they finished 4th in the final. Additionally, she secured the silver medal in the 100m and the bronze medal in the 200m at the Lublin Polish U20 Championships.
In 2022, Monika Romaszko participated exclusively in local competitions but was unable to secure her first podium finish at the senior national championship. Nevertheless, she triumphed in the 100m event at the Memorial Andrzeja Kleczka in Lublin, along with receiving accolades from various local and regional competitions.
Monika Romaszko experienced a highly successful season in 2023, securing the silver medal in the 4x100m relay at the Chengdu FISU World University Games, as well as at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships First Division. Additionally, she achieved a bronze medal at the Wloclawek Polish U23 Championships and a silver medal at the Lubelskie Koziolk in the 100m event.
In 2024, Monika Romaszko commenced the season by clinching the gold medal in the 60m at the Rzeszow Ogolnopolski halowy mityng POZLA. Throughout the outdoor season, she earned the gold medal in the 100m at the Bialystok Polish University Championships and participated in the Nassau World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas. Although she did not secure a medal in the world relays, the team successfully qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. By the end of the season, she secured the 100m gold at the Bialystok Polish Univeristy Championships and Lubelski Koziolki and also competed in 4x100m relays at the Roma European Athletics Championships, but missed the honors.
In 2025, Monika Romaszko started the season strongly by winning the 60m and 200m gold at the Ogolnopolski halowy mityng POZLA and the 200m bronze at the Torun Polish Indoor Championships.
