Paula Sevilla is a Spanish athlete. She was the national champion of Spain in the 100m event in both 2019 and 2020. In 2022, she secured the title of Spanish national champion in the 200m, and in 2025, she became the Spanish indoor champion in the 400m. During the 2025 European Indoor Championships held in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, Paula Sevilla equaled the national record in the 400m while earning a bronze medal.

Paula Sevilla Lopez de la Vieja was born on June 28, 1997, in La Solana, Ciudad Real.

Paula Sevilla was a member of the Spanish team that achieved gold at the 2017 European Athletics U23 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in the women’s 4x100m relay. In 2022, Sevilla recorded a new personal best time of 22.86 sec, making her the second fastest Spanish woman in the 200m event in history, surpassed only by Sandra Myers. Interestingly, when she later won the Spanish national athletics championships, she clocked a time of 22.73 sec, which was actually lower than her new personal best, but it was categorized as a wind-assisted race.

Paula Sevilla was also part of the Spanish 4x100m team that placed fifth at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where they broke the Spanish national record twice. Initially, the team set a new national record with a time of 42.61 sec during the qualifying heats to advance to the final. The following day, they further improved the national record to 42.58 sec in the final.

She was subsequently announced as a member of the Spanish team for the 2022 European Athletics Championships held in Munich. In Munich, Paula Sevilla participated individually in the 200m event, finishing as the tenth fastest in the semi-finals. The relay team secured fourth place in the final with a time of 43.03 sec.

Paula Sevilla competed as part of the Spanish 4x100m relay team at the 2024 World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas. She was chosen to represent Spain at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome in June 2024. Additionally, she took part in the 4x100m relay during the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In February 2025, Paula Sevilla ascended to second place on the Spanish all-time indoor 400m list, trailing only Sandra Myers, after running a time of 51.20 sec to win the Spanish Indoor Athletics Championships. At the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships, she triumphed in her 400m semi-final with a time of 51.23 sec. In the final, she matched the Spanish indoor record of 50.99 sec, earning a bronze medal behind Lieke Klaver and Henriette Jaeger. She was included in the Spanish relay pool for the 2025 World Athletics Relays in China. In the 4x100m relay, she was part of a team with Jael Bestue, Esperanca Cladera, and Maria Isabel Perez, which won their opening race against Jamaica, featuring Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, with a time of 42.18 sec, establishing a Spanish national record and securing qualification for the 2025 World Championships. On the following day, she earned a gold medal with the women’s 4x400m relay team.

Paula Sevilla achieved a personal best time of 50.92 sec in the 400m at the 2025 Bislett Games held in Oslo on June 12, 2025. While representing Spain at the 2025 European Athletics Team Championships, she recorded another personal best of 50.70 seconds in the 400m. During the championships, she was also a member of the Spanish 4x100m relay team, competing alongside Esperanca Cladera, Maribel Perez, and Bestue, which set a new Spanish record with a time of 42.11 sec. On 29 June, she participated in the Spanish mixed 4x400m relay team that established a new national record.
