Gaia Sabbatini is an accomplished Italian middle-distance runner who achieved a national title at the senior level. In February 2020, she made history as the first athlete from Teramo to win a national championship, graduating as the absolute Italian champion. In 2022, she became an European Cross Country champion.
Born on June 10, 1999, in Teramo, Italy, she began her athletics training at a young age. Gaia Sabbatini has recorded personal bests of 2:04.88 in the 800 meters and 4:19.69 in the 1500m.
Gaia Sabbatini achieved three senior-level Italian national titles, becoming the first athlete from Teramo to win a national title in February 2020 as the absolute Italian champion. She represented Italy at the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, competing in the 1500m.
At the 2022 European Cross Country Championships held in Turin, Gaia Sabbatini ran the final leg of the mixed 4x1500m relay, leading Italy to its inaugural victory in this event.
